About Atlas Risk Solutions: 

We are looking for a client-focused Corporate Account Manager to reinforce the Atlas Risk Solutions team in Aruba.

Atlas Risk Solutions is a leading independent insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy firm serving corporate clients across the Dutch Caribbean. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Willemstad, Curaçao, the company specializes in complex, tailor-made corporate risk strategies & procurement, enterprise risk management, insurance audits, and claims support. 

 

Position Overview: 

As an Account Manager at Atlas Risk Solutions, you will drive business growth by actively identifying and acquiring new commercial clients while nurturing long-term relationships with existing ones. You will assess corporate risk exposures, recommend tailored insurance and risk management advisory solutions, and collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery. This fast-paced role requires strong networking skills, exceptional communication, and a proactive, customer-centric approach to corporate client management.

Commercial Manager

 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition

  • Proactively approach prospective B2B clients to expand the client portfolio

  • Identify market opportunities and develop new business relationships and strategic collaborations

  • Review and evaluate new Request for Proposals (RFP’S), taking account thresholds and commercial viability into consideration 

  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify suitable markets for submissions and obtain quotations

  • Develop and execute agreed action plan(s) for prospective clients

  • Respond promptly and professionally to new business inquiries received via email and other communication channels

 

Client Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing clients through regular communication, meetings, and client visits

  • Develop and present coverage recommendations, renewal terms, and insurance solutions to clients

  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships with the objective of delivering consistently high levels of customer service that meets or exceeds industry standards for customers

  • Develop and execute renewal strategies for assigned accounts

  • Prepare Risk Advisory (RA) Proposals and Service Level Agreement (SLA) proposals for small and mid-size accounts

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients throughout the insurance and risk management process

 

Account & Operational Management

  • Support the management team with commercial and account-related activities

  • Liaise with the Finance Department regarding outstanding balances and obtains the necessary approvals when required 

  • Help oversee the technical part and operational aspects of the assigned book of business

  • Participate in negotiations with insurers and carriers for new and renewal quotes

  • Perform and coordinate post-renewal administration activities, including the preparation and follow-up of cover notes, endorsements, policy verification, and checklist completion 

  • Maintain a strong overview of assigned accounts, priorities, deadlines, and outstanding actions

 

Risk Assessment & Management

  • Assess and interpret exposure information to identify relevant risks and insurance requirements

  • Support the development of appropriate insurance and risk management solutions based on each client’s specific exposures and business needs

 

Client Strategy

  • Participate in client strategy meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate insurance and risk management strategies 

  • Proactively manage client expectations in preparation for upcoming renewal terms

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and expand the services provided

 

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Back Office and other internal departments to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery 

  • Contribute to maintaining high professional and service standards throughout the organization

  • Work as an active member of the Commercial Team and contribute to departmental and organizational objectives

  • Promote effective communication and collaboration between clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Economics, Banking & Insurance, International Business or related

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a sales or account management role, ideally in the insurance industry

  • Assurantie B certification is a plus

  • Experience with insurance software such as ANVA is a plus

  • Proficient in Dutch, English, and Papiamento
